GRIT BINS

As you are all aware, grit is in short supply throughout the County and the Council have asked Wiltshire Highways to refill Parish grit bins which they did on the

1^st December. However, when they were checked during the current icy spell, they nearly all appeared empty and the grit had not been used on the highways.

We understand that two people helped themselves to the grit from the top of Post Office Lane to such an extent that they could hardly push the wheelie bins they used to carry it away in. Also grit was taken from the bin by the village hall and used on a private driveway. By removing the grit for private use is an act of theft. It is also very selfish and deprives residents from using it on public footpaths and the highway which is what it is intended for.

PLASTIC AND CARDBOARD RECYCLING

On the following dates there will be skips in the village hall car park from 08.00 until 12 noon for the collection of cardboard and plastic. PLEASE USE THEM
