Phoebe Eclair-Powell has adapted Oscar Wilde’s classic tale “The Picture of Dorian Gray” for this stripped-back production by The Watermill, which will be performed on our own stage.
When offered the chance of ageless beauty, Dorian jumps at the chance to lead a daring and unscrupulous double life while remaining youthful.
An all-female cast bring Wilde’s masterpiece about vanity, cruelty and corrupted innocence to theatrical life in a fast-paced 75 minute production directed by Owen Horsley, whose credits include Salomé for the RSC.
The Watermill’s last re-telling of a Gothic tale, FRANKENSTEIN, was so successful that it transferred to Wilton’s Music Hall in London this year.
The Watermill classes this production as suitable for secondary school children as well as adults.
