Network Rail’s next proposed stage of work in Royal Wootton Bassett to prepare three bridges for the electrification of the Great Western Main Line, is to reopen the Marlborough Road/Broad Town bridge on October 21, subject to progress on site.
They then propose to close the Skew bridges on the A3102 Bath Road from October 24 until early Spring 2017, subject to approval from Wiltshire Council. Please note these dates may be subject to change.
During the closure, traffic will follow a signed diversion route, which uses the temporary link road built to avoid a 30-mile detour for motorists. The road connects the A3102 with Marlborough Road. A map of the diversion route is below.
If you have any comments on the route, or queries about the work, please contact Claire Mcgine at Network Rail.
