The Safari Supper has been an annual fixture in Broad Hinton for well over 20 years.
The event can’t take place at all without the support of those who offer to act as hosts and we’d appreciate early offers.
If you’ve never been a host before, why not give it a try this year; it’s good fun and guests really appreciate it.
Contact one of us to find out what’s involved.
How it works
We have a number of generous hosts every year. Just before the event, you receive a letter telling you who your starter host will be. You eat your starter with your host and a number of other people who you may or may not know. Your starter host tells you who will be hosting your main course. If everything goes to plan, you eat your main course in the company of a number of other, different people (as you can imagine, it does take a BIT of co-ordination!)
Finally, we all meet in the village hall for puddings, cheese and coffee. There’s a pay bar at the hall, or you can bring your own if you prefer. It’s superb value and all the profits we make go to local charities.
In 2016, we raised over £1,300, which we split between the Church and the Prospect Hospice. It seems guests and hosts alike had fun:
